Alphabetical Index

Because the classification of an article depends on many legal and technological factors, the Alphabetical Index should not be regarded as a substitute for the basic texts, i.e., the Harmonized System and its Explanatory Notes.

Classification Decisions

The Classification Decisions taken by the Harmonized System Committee summarizes all the decisions that have been taken during the 27th to 46th Sessions (2001-2010).

What can be found here ?

The Harmonized System database contains the HS Nomenclature (2002, 2007 and 2012 versions), the HS Explanatory Notes (3rd edition - 2002, 4th edition - 2007 and 5th edition - 2012), the Classification Opinions, the Alphabetical Index, the Classification Decisions, the Amendments to the HS implemented as on 1st January 2012 and the correlation tables between the 2007 and 2012 HS versions.

You can do “multi-criteria” searches by keyword or HS codes, print your research, create personal notes and cross navigation between Explanatory Notes, Classification Opinions and Alphabetical Index.

The online database is updated twice a year following the Harmonized System Committee decisions.
